Woodridge Fifth Graders Use Padlet to Support Vocabulary Word Work
This morning in the AT&T Classroom the Woodridge fifth graders continued their exploration of the Mayan civilization. To support their reading of informational text on the subject, this morning the students used Padlet for a vocabulary assignment. Padlet is a free web-based tool that functions as a virtual wall or bulletin board where people can exchange thoughts on a common topic. The posts can include different types of media including text, images, and videos. As part of their vocabulary assignment, the fifth graders provided a prefix and base definition of the targeted word and then used the word in a sentence and added a relevant image to support the sentence and definitions. Students posted their word work on a Padlet wall.
