Defer Fifth Graders Calculate Measurements in Google Earth

This morning in the AT&T Classroom the Defer fifth graders worked with decimal operations to prepare for their work for the Decimal Survivor challenge. The class started with an activity using EdPuzzle, an online platform that offers educational video lessons.

Next the students began exploring their islands using Google Earth. The students had to use the Google Earth measurement tool to measure the distance across each island and rank order the islands from smallest to biggest.
