Programming with Edison Toy Robots

Building from yesterday’s work with the Ozobot Bits, this afternoon in the AT&T Classroom campers were introduced to Edison programmable toy robots. Similar to the Ozobot Bits’ sensors that respond to color changes, the Edisons have built-in sensors that respond to light and sound changes.  The Edisons can be programmed to travel lines and also to communicate with other Edison robots. They are also compatible with LEGO bricks for adding design and building components to Edison projects. This afternoon the campers progressed through a series of challenges using block codes to program the robot. Campers were also introduced to EdBlocks, a graphical programming language that utilizes a drag-and-drop block-based system.
