Campers Embark on the aMAZEing Adventures of Edison

This afternoon in the AT&T Classroom campers embarked on “The aMAZEing Adventures of Edison!” where they will learn to program Edison robots. The Edison is a small programmable robot designed to provide children with hands-on opportunities related to robotics and programming. Edisons have built-in sensors that respond to light and sound changes and can be programmed to travel lines and communicate with other  Edison robots. They are also compatible with LEGO bricks for adding design and building components to Edison projects. This afternoon the campers were introduced to the robot’s components including the line tracking sensor and the light sensors and how those sensors interact with block codes to program the robot. Campers were also introduced to EdBlocks, a graphical programming language that utilizes a drag-and-drop block-based system.
