This afternoon in the AT&T Classroom the Fishcreek third graders were introduced to Adobe Spark Video, one of three tools accessible in the Adobe Spark Platform - a web-based platform for sharing and creating visual stories. Adobe Spark Video can be used for creating movies/videos by adding and combining text, images, and voice-over to slides. The tool also includes access to a library of free music that can be used solely or added in the background of voice-over narration. Other tools in the platform include Adobe Spark Page, which can be used for creating digital stories and projects that include images, videos, text, and web links and Adobe Spark Post for creating graphics for posters, flyers, and social media. All Adobe Spark tools can be used at no cost in a device’s web browser (including Chromebooks) or via their free mobile iOS app for iPads. The third graders are using Adobe Spark Video to create book trailers to share a recent book they read. Book trailers are wonderful projects to encourage students’ writing and critical thinking and to get students excited about reading independently.
