This morning in the AT&T Classroom RCET kicked-off the Fall semester with Mrs. Jody Oesch and her second graders from Carlin Elementary, Ravenna City Schools. This morning the second graders learned to navigate Google Classroom, a learning platform designed to provide a safe digital learning space where teachers and students can communicate and share content. Within Google Classroom Mrs. Oesch is able to create an assignment and choose how students complete the assignment (e.g., individually, small groups, whole class). She is also able to view students’ work and progress on an assignment and provide feedback to individual students. The Stream feature within Google Classroom allows Mrs. Oesch and her students to post questions and replies. This morning Mrs. Oesch used the Stream feature to share with the students their morning writing prompt and their Number of the Day for math. The second graders are completing their daily writing prompt using Google Slides, a free Google productivity app for creating digital stories, presentations, reports, note cards, etc.
