Wait Primary First Graders Design Animal Habitats with Doodle Buddy

Over the past 2 weeks in the AT&T Classroom the Wait Primary first graders have been exploring animal habitats. This afternoon the first graders applied what they have learned to design their own digital representation of an animal habitat. Each student selected a specific animal for their project focus and then conducted a Google image search to find an appropriate photo of the animal. Next the students were introduced to the Doodle Buddy iOS app to use for designing the habitat scene. Doodle Buddy iOS is a free drawing app for iPads that offers several tools including paint brushes, chalk, glitter, stencils and stamps. This morning the first graders utilized the various tools within Doodle Buddy iOS to draw a scene representing key features of the animal’s habitat related to food, shelter, water, and air.
