During their second week in the AT&T Classroom the Willyard fourth graders created math videos that demonstrate strategies and processes for solving multiplication and division problems. Working in small groups, students were given a fact family, a group of related multiplication and division facts made from the same numbers. The student groups were challenged to perform both multiplication and division operations and explain the problem solving process for each. To create their videos, the groups first outlined the content for their video and then used the camera feature on the iPads to record their video. All of the videos have been uploaded to the class math blog which is accessible at the URL below. Each student also posted comments to the blog regarding their classmates’ videos.
