Willyard Fourth Graders Create Buncee Pattern Books

As part of their current math unit, the Willyard fourth graders are also studying patterns. Understanding patterns is a an important foundational skill for conceptualizing mathematical relationships relative to the number line, multiplication, and algebra.  The students took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and went on a photo walk. Using the camera feature on their iPads, the students walked around campus and captured photos of various patterns. This morning in the AT&T Classroom, the students used their photos to create a Buncee book on math patterns.

Buncee EDU is a free multi-platform tool that students can use to create multimedia projects. The platform offers an interactive digital canvas with thematic background templates that can be used to create stories, books, presentations, pamphlets, posters, etc. Students are able to customize the templates by adding animations, pictures, text, drawings, and videos. The Buncee platform also offers a very large gallery of searchable media that students can use in their projects  or students have the option to import external media from their computers or other websites. Completed Buncee projects can be viewed online and/or saved as PDFs.
