Campers started their morning by building their own original model from scratch using the Lego WeDo STEM kits and were then introduced to the LEGO WeDo 2.0 system. Released this past Spring, the LEGO WeDo 2.0 system utilizes a 2.0 Smarthub and wireless Bluetooth technology so that children are able to program and control their builds from a variety of wireless devices such as Chromebooks, Android tablets and iPads as well as Mac/Windows laptops. In addition to building children’s skills for design, coding, and programming the system also offers an accompanying classroom curriculum for grades 2-4 that targets life, physical, earth and space sciences as well as engineering concepts. This morning the campers were introduced to the new LEGO WeDo 2.0 software and learned to use the tablet app to do some initial programming with the system.
