This morning in the AT&T Classroom, RCET kicked-off our 2016 summer technology camps with the LEGO WeDo Robotics camp. The LEGO WeDo system combines traditional LEGO bricks with programming software to introduce the basic elements of programming to young children. Across the week the children will explore strategies for building and programming to create increasingly complex LEGO models. Today the campers prepared for their work by reviewing physics concepts related to simple machines using the MI Kids Simple Machines website. The campers were also introduced to the LEGO WeDo system, the drag-and-drop software, and the various tools and pieces they will be using to create the project models including the LEGO USB Hub, motor, tilt sensor, and motion sensor.
