West Main Second Graders Explore Digital Tools for Writing

Over the past three weeks in the AT&T Classroom the West Main second graders have been introduced to various tools for writing including ABCya Story Maker, Educreations, Scholastic Story Starters, and today, Adobe Slate. Providing opportunities for students to work on writing is critical to the development of their writing skills as well as their overall literacy (i.e., reading, writing, speaking & listening). Using digital tools for writing that include features for drawing and adding images and narration offers additional rich opportunities for children to utilize auditory, verbal, visual, and kinesthetic modalities in combination to create a very personalized and meaningful writing piece.
