West Main Second Graders Explore Popplet

In preparation for their upcoming biography project, the students learned to use the Popplet tool today to organize their research facts.  Popplet is a free tool that can be used to create concept maps and diagrams. This morning the students learned how to navigate the tool’s features to build a concept map and add text and images. To build expertise with the tool, the students created a Popplet about themselves, by capturing a “selfie” photo within the app that they inserted in the main popple/bubble of their Popplet and then added other popples to describe themselves. Mrs. Frabotta also demonstrated to the students how they will build a Popplet to organize the facts they gather from their research on a U.S. President.
