Lakeview Fifth Graders Create Food Chains with Popplet

We are so excited to welcome Lakeview Intermediate teacher Mrs. Amanda Eddy and her fifth graders to the AT&T Classroom. The class will be here in the afternoon daily through November 2nd. During their time in the AT&T Classroom, the class will be using a variety of digital tools across the curriculum to support their learning. This afternoon the students focused on the science unit they have been studying back at Lakeview and were introduced to Popplet, a free tool that can be used to create diagrams and concept maps.  The app allows you to build a diagram or outline by creating popples  in various shapes and sizes to represent individual facts or details related to a specific concept. Students can also add text, drawing, or images to each popple. Students are able to draw their own image or use the online search function within the app to find and insert a photo or image from the web. This afternoon each student selected an animal and conducted online research regarding the food chain for that animal. The students used Popplet to create a food chain web to share their research findings.
