Across the next five weeks, the Woodland second graders will be exploring several digital resources that offer extended practice for specific math skills. This afternoon in the AT&T Classroom Mrs. Marshall introduced the Woodland second graders to the “Make 10 Plus” app on the iPads. Make 10 Plus is a math game that a focuses on the “math fact 10 family”. The player is challenged to reach the total of 10 as quickly as they can by tapping the correct number tile before a wall comes crashing down. Knowing how to make 10 is a key math skill in order to add and work with larger numbers. Students were very engaged with the challenge posed by the game while building their fluency with grouping for 10.
