Today in the AT&T Classroom the Riverview first graders used Adobe Slate for informational writing practice. Adobe Slate is a newly released iOS app for creating digital stories, presentations and other digital media. The app offers several themes and layouts that can be used to create digital projects that incorporate text and images. Each student selected a topic and using nonfiction books as a resource, created their own digital story using the templates in Adobe Slate. The students were very creative using Slate's customization options with fonts and layouts to incorporate important key features of nonfiction text that they had discussed in previous lessons such as headers, captions and images.
