Echo Hills Fourth Graders Engage in Online Literature Discussions with Padlet

Padlet is a web-based tool that functions as a virtual wall or bulletin board where people can easily exchange thoughts on a common topic. Users are able to post several forms of content including text, images, and videos. The tool can be used in many different ways including a place to post announcements, assignments or messages as well as an online space for discussions, brainstorming, creating a KWL, or a space for posting links to specific websites.  The Echo HIlls fourth graders have a Padlet wall that they use for online class literature discussions. The fourth graders have been reading Shiloh and today the students posted responses to the teacher’s prompt about character traits. The collaborative nature of the tool extends students’ learning by allowing the students to view their classmates’ posts and learn from their peers’ perspectives on the topic.
