This morning in the AT&T Classroom the Riverview first graders used the Educreations app for their Daily 5 activity Read-to-Self. Educreations is a free app that allows the iPad to record the student’s voice which can be saved for playback and/or shared online. Mrs. Nichols is using the app to provide opportunities for students to practice their reading fluency.
Within the Educreations app, the students used the camera to take a photo of an Earth Day poem and then used the app’s microphone to record themselves reading the poem aloud. Afterwards, the students shared their reading sample with their classmates by playing back their Educreations recording projected on the big screen and the Apple TV.
Educreations can also be used to create stories, animations, presentations, etc. on any device with a web browser.
