Miss Kristen Fudale, Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools Academic Technology Specialist, joined the Riverview first graders in the
AT&T Classroom today for poetry work with Google slides. The first graders
are using the tool to write and illustrate their own Spring acrostic poems. An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or
other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase. Miss
Fudale demonstrated to the class several features of Google Slides including how to search
for, insert and format images, as well
as how to change font, backgrounds, colors and slide transitions. The children were so engaged using the tool to create their own unique poem. Using
digital tools for creative writing projects provides an opportunity for students to
develop their writing skills and to also build the technology expertise that is
critical for learning and living in a digital age.
