RCET Welcomes Ravenna City Schools Carlin Elementary to the AT&T Classroom

RCET kicked-off the  Spring semester this morning in the AT&T Classroom with Ravenna City Schools. Ravenna was the first school district to send a class to the AT&T Classroom when it opened its doors in the Spring Semester of 1998 and we are very pleased to welcome them back with Mrs. Robin Duff and her first graders from Carlin Elementary. On their first day in the AT&T Classroom the first graders learned to use KidBlog. Kidblog is a free site for creating and hosting student blogs designed specifically for use by K-12 teachers and students. The term Blog is short for Web Log and refers to an online space where a user can share information by posting text, images, audio, or video.  Providing opportunities for students to “blog” allows children to further develop their literacy skills while also providing them with authentic writing experiences. The first graders have a class blog where they are able to draft and share their writing with Mrs. Duff and their classmates.  Today each student drafted a post on the class blog about their first day at Kent State University.
