The
Walls third graders have been busy finalizing the digital stories they had
started at the end of last week. Students used the Toontastics ipad app to
create their own unique story incorporating their knowledge of essential story
elements and then designed their own background and characters. Students shared
their final stories with their classmates by projecting them on the Apple
TV.
Creating
digital stories provides opportunities for children to use higher order
thinking skills to organize and design the story elements and the traits of the
characters. It also provides an opportunity for students to utilize auditory, verbal,
visual, and kinesthetic modalities in combination to create a very personalized
and meaningful product that reflects their learning.
