Character Analysis with Kidspiration Concept Maps





Today in the AT&T Classroom the Walls third graders focused on character traits during their reading lesson. Mrs. Blake read the book “Julius – The Baby of the World – projected on the presentation screen with the document camera so that the students could follow along. Afterward, the students used the Kidspiration app on the ipads to create a concept map outlining actions and character traits of Lily, one of the characters from the story. A concept map is a graphical diagram that provides a visual representation of the relationship between concepts. Teachers often use concept maps as a strategy to facilitate students’ critical thinking and their ability to identify and understand similarities and differences among key concepts.
