Children explored two tools today for creating digital stories.Creating digital
stories provides opportunities for children to further develop their literacy
skills (e.g.
reading, writing, speaking & listening) and also to build “21st century
skills” — critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Today the children used PhotoStory to create digital stories that included effects, audio, and text. Photostory is a free tool that can be downloaded from the Microsoft site. The children also explored Toontastics, a free iPad app that allows
children to draw, animate, & share cartoons online
via ToonTube, Toontastic’s Global Storytelling Network.
