Indian Trail First Graders Create Claymations & Digital Games

This week in the AT&T Classroom Mrs. Moraghan's first graders have continued creating their claymations on plant growth. The children are working in pairs to build clay models of a plant’s growth at various stages. The students captured several photos of the models & then formatted the photos using the iStopMotion Animation app on their iPads to create a movie.

The students also used the iOS app Tiny Tap to create digital games about living and non-living things. The children captured photos using the iPad camera & then inserted the photos into the Tiny Tap app adding text and music to create a seek-and-find game focused on the concept of living vs. non-living things.

The first graders have been working on their writing skills using Toontastics on the iPads. Toontastics is a free iOS app that allows children to draw, animate and share cartoons.  Children are also able to add audio to their story by recording their own voices. The students shared their stories with their classmates by projecting them on the Apple TV.
