Lippman Students Create Multimedia Stories with Spark Video

The Lippman students took advantage of today’s beautiful weather and started their morning by taking a photo walk on the Kent State campus. Two favorite landmarks of the students were the Eye to Eye sculpture created by artist Barry Gunderson and the Behind the Brain Plaza designed by Brinsley Tyrrell, Kent State Professor Emeritus of Art.

Back in the AT&T Classroom, the students were introduced to Adobe Spark Video to create a multimedia story of their Kent State experience, including their work with the Ozobots and today's photo walk. Multimedia projects that involve students in capturing and using real-time photos connects them to their written text in a very meaningful way. Additionally, the projects provide an opportunity for students to utilize auditory, verbal, visual, and kinesthetic modalities in combination to create a very personalized and meaningful product that reflects their learning.

Adobe Spark Video is part of the Adobe Spark platform that offers tools for sharing and creating visual stories in three different media formats. Within the platform,  Adobe Spark Video can be used for creating movies/videos by adding text, images, and voice-over to slides. The tool includes access to a library of free music that can be added to the video or added with voice-over narration in the background of the video. In addition to Adobe Spark Video, the Adobe Spark platform includes two other tools - Adobe Spark Post and Adobe Spark Page.  Adobe Spark Post can be used for creating graphics for posters, flyers, and social media. Adobe Spark Page can be used for creating digital slide shows, stories and web pages that include pictures, videos, text, and web links. All Adobe Spark tools can be used at no cost in a web browser (including Chromebooks) or via their free mobile iOS app for ipads.
