Campers Explore LEGO WeDo Robotics in Kent State's AT&T Classroom

This morning RCET welcomed a new group of campers to our LEGO WeDo Robotics camps. The LEGO WeDo system combines traditional LEGO bricks with programming software to introduce the basic elements of programming to young children.  Today campers were introduced to the LEGO WeDo system, the drag-and-drop software, and the various tools and pieces they will be using to create the project models including the LEGO USB Hub, motor, tilt sensor, and motion sensor. The campers progressed through a series of initial projects that provided experience in programming simple builds with the software to add movement and sound with the gears, motors and sensors. Across the week the campers will explore strategies for building and programming to create increasingly complex LEGO models.
