Second Graders Create Digital Book Jackets
Book Cover Creator is an interactive tool offered through the Read Write Think website that allows students to type and illustrate book covers. The tool provides templates for both front and back covers. Students are able to type text to insert the book title and a brief description on the back cover. Drawing tools are available so students can create illustrations to accompany their text. This afternoon in the AT&T Classroom the students used Book Cover Creator to design their own unique book jacket for the story-of-the week, Juice Box Bully. After the students finished designing their covers, the class did a gallery walk so they could view one another’s book jackets.
